Reducing the Risk of Domestic Abuse

The Parish Council has been asked to make residents aware of the work of DA Friends.

DA (Domestic Abuse) ‘Friends’ was launched in April 2023 by the Oxfordshire based charity Reducing the Risk of Domestic Abuse and is about engaging and empowering local communities in raising awareness of domestic abuse and the support that is available to those in need, by becoming Domestic Abuse (DA) Friends.

As a domestic abuse charity it is highly aware that victims of domestic abuse over 65 years old and or, who live in a rural area, stay in an abusive relationship much longer due to there being a lack of access to information and support.

Being a ‘DA Friend’ is about communities supporting each other whatever the age, to Listen, Link and Lend a Hand in raising awareness of Domestic Abuse.

The friends have produced this leaflet.
